AEON Credit, in collaboration with the Wetland School of Setiu (ECOSWED) and the Universiti Malaysia Terengganu ‘Green Rangers,’ planted 1,000 mangrove saplings at Setiu Wetland, Terengganu. Local community members and university students planted two species of mangrove trees, now in their second year, as part of AEON Credit’s ongoing commitment to preserving the Malaysian coastline. This builds on recent coastal clean-up efforts, where volunteers removed 2.4 tonnes of rubbish.

The event was attended by Faizul Hamzah, AEON Credit Chief Risk Officer; Hasmamaizan Abd Rahman, AEON Credit Eastern Regional Manager; Dr. Izan Jaafar, UMT Green Ranger Coordinator; and Nur Amirah Salmi, Wetland School of Setiu Project Coordinator.

AEON Credit is committed to upholding ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards, believing that these efforts benefit both local communities and the environment. Next, volunteers from the Northern Regional Office (NRO), along with local fishermen and students from Universiti Sains Malaysia, will plant another 1,000 trees at Byram Forest Reserve, a water basin for the Kerian River in Penang.
