AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad (“AEON Credit”) announced an Education Sponsorship programme in a signing ceremony on Friday, 24 February 2017 with Universiti Malaya, Universiti Putra Malaysia and
Universiti Sains Malaysia held at Hilton Kuala Lumpur.

In conjunction with the 20th Anniversary celebrations of AEON Credit in Malaysia, the Company will initially provide education sponsorship to twenty (20) eligible students to pursue their undergraduate studies. This sponsorship will be awarded especially to deserving students from the lower socioeconomic group who face financial challenges.

Students currently pursuing or intending to pursue their undergraduate studies in the fields of Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Actuarial Science, Law and Information Technology / Computer Science would be eligible for this sponsorship.

YBhg. Dato’ Abdullah Yusof, Chairman AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad, in his opening remarks commented “AEON Credit has always been committed to supporting and enhancing the wellbeing of the community we serve. Hence, this sponsorship programme also shows our living up to that commitment, whereby we are supporting Malaysia’s human capital development with focus on financial assistance for deserving students to pursue their tertiary education at top local public universities”.

He further stated that AEON Credit was heartened to play a small role in investment in education as an important element in economic growth and nation building.

Representing the universities at the signing ceremony were YBhg. Datuk Prof. Dr. Rohana Yusof; Deputy Vice Chancellor University Malaya, YBhg. Datin Paduka Dr. Aini Ideris; Vice Chancellor University Putra Malaysia and YBhg. Dato’ Prof. Dr. Adnan Hussein; Deputy Vice Chancellor University Sains Malaysia. The signing ceremony was also witnessed by Mr. Kenji Fujita; Managing Director AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad.
