Press Release – AEON Credit branches out with opening of 63rd service centre

Sungai Petani, Kedah – AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad (AEON Credit or the Company) further consolidated its foothold in its Northern Region operations with the opening of the Sungai Petani branch today. The opening ceremony was officiated by Yang DiPertua Abd Rashid Othman, Chairman of Sungai Petani Municipal Council.

Mr. Kenji Fujita, Managing Director of AEON Credit, mentioned the 63rd branch opening opening is aligned with the Company’s expansion strategy which looks towards opening a total of 64 branches nationwide by financial year end of 2017. Earlier this year, AEON Credit opened 2 branches in East Malaysia in the towns of Sibu followed by Sandakan. The Company also reported strong earnings for its first quarter in May 2017 recording a net profit of RM62.73 million.

“The Company remains focussed for the long term in establishing AEON Credit as a key player in consumer financing. We are confident of the strong market growth potential in Sungai Petani. With the opening of the Sungai Petani branch, AEON Credit is expected to tap into its customer base in Baling, Kulim and Gurun through services in consumer durable financing and other financing schemes which also covers personal financing, Mopeds, Superbikes, cars and issuance of credit cards,” said Mr. Fujita.

He further added that the Company looks to strengthening its local support for retail merchants offering AEON Credit’s easy payment schemes for vehicle financing and purchase of consumer goods as well offering high quality customer service including ATM and other related products. Other than offering consumer financing solutions, AEON Credit is also committed to grow with the local community of Sungai Petani by supporting the town’s economic activities via its equipment, machinery and vehicle financing to businesses.

The Company has been providing consumer financing solutions in the Northern Region since 2006 when it opened its first branch in Penang. With the opening of Sungai Petani, AEON Credit has now a total of 15 branches and service centres in its Northern Region which includes the states of Pulau Pinang, Kedah and Perak.

The opening ceremony included participation from local merchants which such as Demak Marketing, MForce Bike Holdings and Wah Lee Chain-Store, all of whom were also sponsors the prizes for AEON Credit’s Moped Direct to Customer campaign. A total of 13 winners won prizes worth over RM64,000.00 in the form of Moped models and Panasonic cash vouchers RM5,000.00. Members of the public who attended the booths were also treated with prizes and complimentary motorcycle check-ups by other participating merchants.
